Contract management

We provide comprehensive contract and project management throughout the construction phase, often working in parallel with our Client’s Engineer and Principal Designer roles. This integrated approach ensures consistent technical oversight, clear communication, and aligned decision‑making from contract award through to commissioning.

Our team delivers continuous value engineering, supports contract negotiations, and undertakes detailed reviews of technical submissions from suppliers and contractors. We verify compliance with design specifications, monitor progress against programme, and sign off key project milestones to maintain quality and accountability.

We also manage change control, risk tracking, and commercial interfaces to protect the client’s interests and maintain cost certainty. By coordinating effectively with all delivery partners, we ensure that the completed asset meets performance expectations, regulatory requirements, and long‑term operational needs.

NEC and JCT contracts

We provide contract management support for low carbon energy projects across both JCT and NEC contract suites, with a clear understanding of the differing commercial and delivery frameworks each requires.

For JCT contracts, we manage traditional valuation processes, including monthly assessments, variations, and payment applications, ensuring accurate certification and cost control. Under NEC contracts, we support proactive contract administration through the management of programme, compensation events, and activity schedules, with a focus on collaboration and early warning principles.

Our experience across both approaches allows us to navigate the nuances of each form effectively, maintaining commercial discipline while supporting smooth project delivery and reducing contractual risk.

Contract resolution

Where contractual issues arise, such as variation requests or disagreements over valuation, we support clients in managing and resolving these matters in a structured and commercially focused way. Our approach is to assess entitlement and value against the contract framework, technical scope, and supporting records, identifying where claims are valid, overstated, or not contractually applicable.

We aim to resolve issues efficiently and pragmatically, prioritising dialogue, evidence-based assessment, and early engagement with the contractor to avoid escalation wherever possible. Throughout, we act in the client’s best interests, balancing commercial protection with the need to maintain progress, relationships, and overall project delivery.
